The AWS is delighted to announce this joint Event with The Law Society to celebrate International Women's Day on 8th March 2012. The "Early Bird " offer has now been extended to Friday 17th February 2012.

AWS member Alexandra Marks appointed JAC Commissioner - Mon, 19th Dec 11

Congratulations to AWS member Alexandra Marks who has been appointed Solicitor Commissioner to the Judicial Appointments Commission.
Ms Marks has had a career as a partner at Linklaters, practising in commercial property. She became a Recorder in 2002, is a Deputy High Court Judge, an Adjudicator for the Solicitors Regulation Authority, and Chair of the Architects Registration Board's Professional Conduct Committee. She is also a Past President of the City of London Law Society and a Board member of JUSTICE.

The AWS Awards and Law Society Excellence Awards 2011

The AWS Awards celebrating the success of women solicitors in business were  advertised earlier this year and the category winners announced on Thursday 8th September 2011 at a  Reception at the London Grange City Hotel.
Following our own competition four of the category winners - Corinne Aldridge, Juliya Arbisman, Hema Arnand and Allison Page were shortlisted for the prestigious title of AWS Legal Businesswoman of the year announced at  the Law Society Excellence Awards at Old Billingsgate on Tuesday 18th October 2011.
Congratulations to the overall winner Allison Page of DLA Piper UK LLP (pictured with AWS Chairwoman Joy Van-Cooten) and  many thanks to all who entered. Thank You also to our sponsors Lloyds TSB Commercial and Wesleyan For Lawyers.
