22/09/2010 - The Principles of State Responsibility and Systemic Intimate Violence

The AWS announces its ever popular annual event, which will be held this year at Le Meridien Hotel in central London.
The evening is a great opportunity to meet other members of the Association and to network with guests working with women solicitors. It is also a marvelously pleasurable evening as can be seen from the accompanying pictures of last year’s dinner.
This year the guest speaker is the well known parliamentarian, the Right Hon Patricia Hewitt MP. Ms Hewitt’s presence will be doubly significant: not only has she had a most fascinating and distinguished career in parliament and as a Minister of the Crown - demonstrating that women can make it to the top at Westminster - but she is also an MP for Leicester, where incoming Chair of the AWS, Christl Hughes, has her practice.

The evening comprises three sections. The Association’s annual general meeting will take place at 6:00pm, and that is free of charge for all members to attend.
This will be followed at 6:30pm by the Champagne Reception, and then the Gala Dinner at 7:30pm. The cost of the dinner is just £69.50 for early bird bookings made by 26th February. Thereafter the cost will be £79.00. For those wishing to attend the Reception only, the cost is £20.00.
Members and non-members, men and women, are welcome to attend the Champagne Reception and Gala Dinner. Bookings may be made on an individual or table basis. Please see the attached flyer and booking form or contact Sandra Dawson at sandra@admin4u.org.uk
The dress code is Black Tie or National Dress.
As previously, this year’s event promises to be the annual showcase for women solicitors, and attendance really should be treated as a priority call.
